Award for Distinctive Service
General Award Information
Junior Service League (JSL) of Springfield, Ohio, is now accepting nominations for the
Award for Distinctive Service. This award recognizes and celebrates a past JSL member
whose commitment to the community exemplifies the spirit, dedication and values of
Junior Service League and its founding members.
Past award recipients include Lori Bartell, Mary Lu Noonan and Gretta Runyan.
Current and past members are encouraged to nominate women who have demonstrated
leadership, compassion and community service. Eligible nominees are previous Junior
Service League members who made a positive impact while in JSL, and whose
generosity of spirit inspires others to take an active role in the community. Nominations
also may be made posthumously.
The award recipient will be honored at the Sustainer Tea on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at
the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Springfield. The event costs $20 per person and
is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. To purchase a ticket, call Heather Maurer at 342-1654.
The award recipient will be chosen from completed nomination forms postmarked or
e-mailed by Sept. 15, 2009. All completed nominations will be reviewed and evaluated by
the Award Selection Committee.
